Get ready to tear down obstacles of the mind and body. Our mission at Oahu Surf and Skim School is to create a beautiful experience for our students. We promise to deliver an enjoyable day of learning how to wave ride. It doesn’t matter your age or experience level, we teach anyone and everyone the skills they need to become an accomplished wave rider.
MEET MAXWELL BOURNE
Whether on a surfboard or a skimboard, Maxwell was born with a heart for chasing waves and saltwater in his veins.
His passion and dedication propelled him to become a Professional Skimboarder in 2014, riding waves in competitions around the world. For the last 10+ years, he’s been committed to sharing his expertise, pro insights, and overwhelming joy for surfing and skimboarding with others through lessons and coaching. This same enthusiasm drove him to earn his BA in Ocean, Geology and Earth Science and to become a prep school teacher on the subject.
Combining his love for teaching, the sport, and the ocean, it was a natural step for Maxwell to open Oahu Surf and Skim School — a comprehensive school for Surfing and Skimboarding education. He finds little more satisfying than teaching a student, celebrating their “firsts” and watching them develop, not only with their wave riding ability, but as a person.
